Some years ago, I found two 23" My Twinn rescue dolls on ebay when I was still learning about dolls. I completely fell in love with their look and set out on a mission to rescue and restore them. They looked a bit rough when they arrived. But I was eager to see what I could do with them and focused on the potential. [node:read-more:link]
When I photographed 18" My Twinn dolls Danielle, Ariel, and Wendi a few years ago for a makeover, I didn't realize it would take till now to get it done. But the extra time worked out ok because it gave me a chance to develop my skills in restoring and repainting to get more of the result I wanted. [node:read-more:link]
I had so much fun recreating My Twinns Berkeley, Cai, Pearl, and Kim. I even played around with a few different looks for them before having to make the decision to send them off. [node:read-more:link]
My Twinn 18" Kim is the final rescue doll of the My Twinn rescue project.
I can't say how happy I am to have made it to this point after three challenging rescues over the last couple of months (and several years planning). 18" Twinns Berkeley, Cai, and Pearl are all the better for it too, and Kim has been patiently waiting in the wings to join them. With both Berkeley and Cai successfully remade, it was time to look at My Twinn 18" Pearl and see what I could do to make her whole again too. [node:read-more:link]
In part I of my Fixing Cai series, I wrote about some of the more complicated TLC that this 18" My Twinn doll needed, including removing her factory wig glue (with varying sucess) and minimizing some damage around her eyes.
