Today my two random not-so-random dolls are both by Gotz: Little Sisters doll Lily and rare doll Maddison.

Lily came to me a couple of years ago just as you see her here, and Maddison arrived likewise more recently. I actually I got these two lovely Gotz dolls for a good price because they did not have their original clothing, or anything else for that matter. Maybe just their name. :) I have this fool's dream that I'm going to find their original clothes somewhere out there on the secondary market and make them complete again at last.

That might be a remote possibility with Lily, who is one of three Little Sisters vintage dolls produced by Gotz and originally wore a blue dress with a striped shirt. But probably not. The dolls are hard enough to find dressed, so stumbling across the dress with no doll is not very likely at this point!

Maddison is an even more remote possibility. She's a rare doll as she is, so finding her blue skirt with suspenders is probably never going to happen. I may have to to make a reproduction dress eventually, but I'm waiting it out a while longer. Other than her missing clothes -- and I wonder the story behind that because she is otherwise in excellent condition and has been very well taken care of -- she's like new! She even has her original pigtails and ribbons.

Makes you wonder what stories dolls have to tell.
