Two Random Dolls: Kingstate and Springfield

Two random dolls, because reasons. . .

Today my two random dolls are both custom re-dos of two budget friendly 18" dolls: Springfield Collection Maria and Kingstate Friendship Kids Friends Forever.

I actually re-did Maria and her Springfield "cousin" vintage retired Niya at the same time.

Niya had always been problematic in that she was originally made with almost no hair plugs. In addition to that, her hair had become impossibly frizzy over time, even without ever combing it! I had always kept her hair in braids, but the bottom fringes soon became dry and frayed while simply sitting on a shelf!

So I thought it was time to give Niya a new lease on life and remake her into a twin brother for makeover Maria. I love the way they turned out!

The Kingstate boy doll was originally a blonde girl doll with a really badly matted wig that I exchanged for a newer one which suited her well enough.

But eventually I decided she would make a much cuter boy, so I gave her freckles and an allover blush and traded out her long blond wig for a cute boy do. Well dang, he really was meant to be a boy all along!

I even got a picture of him with makeover Maria's new twin brother. . .

All of the dolls here have now gone to new homes, but I was thankfully able to preserve this cute moment in time. . . Unfortunately the day was very overcast when I photographed them, so I apologize for the grainy images. :/
